Daily Routine
At K’s Kubz Childminding, my goal is for every child to feel safe, valued and happy, enjoying a day filled with learning, play and care, at their own pace.
Every day at K’s Kubz Childminding is carefully planned to provide a calm, balanced and nurturing environment, while remaining flexible to meet the individual needs of each child. Rather than following strict timings, our days flow naturally, allowing children to feel relaxed, secure and confident as they learn and play at their own pace.
Arrival & Settling In
Children are welcomed into a warm, home-from-home environment where they can settle in gently. Free play is encouraged, allowing children to choose activities they enjoy while reconnecting with familiar routines and friends.
This is also a time for cuddles, reassurance and quiet conversation to help each child feel comfortable and ready for the day ahead.
Play-Based Learning & Activities
Throughout the day, children are offered a variety of play-based learning opportunities aligned with the EYFS framework. Activities may include:
Creative arts and crafts
Sensory play and messy play
Role play and imaginative games
Baking and simple cooking activities
Puzzles, books and small-world play
Activities are carefully planned to support confidence, communication, independence and curiosity, without overstimulation.
Outdoor Play & Exploration
Outdoor play is an important part of our day. Children have regular access to the secure garden, where they can enjoy fresh air, physical play and exploration.
Outdoor activities may include:
Free play and movement
Gardening and nature exploration
Water play during warmer months
Imaginative outdoor play
Local outings and walks may also take place, helping children explore their community and develop real-world experiences.
Mealtimes & Snacks
Children enjoy nutritious meals and snacks in a relaxed, social setting. Mealtimes are unrushed and encourage independence, good manners and positive relationships with food.
Dietary requirements, allergies and individual needs are always accommodated.
Rest & Quiet Time
Quiet time is built into the day to allow children to rest and recharge. Younger children can nap or sleep in a calm environment, while older children enjoy quiet activities such as reading, puzzles or gentle play.
Afternoon Play & Wind-Down
As the day continues, children enjoy further play opportunities, outdoor time or relaxed activities, depending on their energy levels and interests.
The day winds down in a calm and comforting way, helping children feel settled and happy as they prepare to go home.
Partnership with Parents
Every child is unique, and routines are adapted to suit individual needs, developmental stages and family preferences. I work closely with parents to ensure continuity between home and childcare, providing regular updates and open communication.
